Cooking for me is like magic. I can create flavors that most people can’t even imagine. My buddy Caid works the kitchen with me, helping out however he can. He sees the joy that cooking brings me and wants to be a part of it.

You see, as a kid the crystals in the mountains around my city enhanced my sense of smell to like bloodhound levels. By the time I was 10, I could detect the tiniest hints of aroma that most people wouldn’t even notice. Chopping veggies now, I can tell by their smell exactly how ripe they are, how fresh. My knife cuts unlock their true potential.

When making soups and sauces, I balance the flavors in my head before I even start. I picture every spice, herb, and ingredient mingling together in perfect harmony. Sweet, sour, and salty all work together like a well-oiled machine. And my nose tells me when it’s just right, when every flavor is at its peak.

The aromas that fill my kitchen and drift out to the dining room are like nothing anyone’s ever smelled before. My customers have no idea about the unbelievable flavors that await them. As they breathe in those smells, it transports them to another place and time and makes them happy just to be alive at that moment.

My food lets them forget their troubles, for a few fleeting minutes. The complexity of flavors unfolding on their tongues is strange and mysterious. They dive into each bite like explorers, discovering new dimensions of taste they never knew existed.

Our customers remember what it feels like to be filled with wonder. The smiles on their faces when they leave, raving about “the most amazing meal of my life” – that’s pretty magical. That feeling keeps me coming back to the kitchen day after day, creating new combinations of herbs, spices, and freaky flavors that hopefully transport a few more people, if only for an instant.

For the folks sitting down to eat my food, I do my best to weave a little magic with a knife and stove. One impossible flavor at a time.
